Asphaltic Plug Bridge Joints

 

The Asphaltic Plug joints is a completely waterproof system of bridge jointing that is flexible in all directions, has high load bearing capability and provides a smooth riding surface with no increase in surface noise.

Made of special combination of an elastomeric modified bitumen binder, manufactured by Colas -UK and a carefully selected single aggregate, it provides strength and flexibility that can accommodate movements up to 50mm.

Unlike other bridge jointing systems, Asphaltic plug joints can be planned off to an intermediate or full depth during resurfacing operations.
